Beirut’s renowned AHM Club has reopened after a four-year hiatus, showcasing a fresh new look.
The club, located in Lebanon’s capital city, faced prolonged closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and significant damage from the catastrophic 2020 explosion. On Friday, July 12, AHM welcomed guests back with performances from PAWSA and Dennis Cruz, followed by an all-night-long event featuring Bedouin the next night.
The relaunch of AHM is spearheaded by the Beirut-based creative studio Factory People and built in collaboration with award-winning Lebanese architect Carl Gerges. The reopening aligns with the celebration of 10 years of nightlife in Lebanon, bringing back popular club nights like 2ND SUN, Love Night, and House Of Pop, all synonymous with AHM over the years.
In an interview with The Guardian, AHM’s owner Jade described the 2020 explosion as a “huge catastrophe for morale.” Jade, who also owns The Grand Factory, another prominent venue that reopened last year, explained, “Our summer club, AHM, has been destroyed, plus our offices, and Grand Factory is 45% destroyed, too.”
In the coming months, AHM will feature performances from fan favorites such as Mathame, Nicole Moudaber, Innellea, Francis Mercier, Folamour, and Adriatique.
